Retro wheels!

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday  and Shirley has chosen wheels as the theme.

The design team and our guest Lynda have lots of inspiration for you, so I hope you can join us in the gallery.
If wheels aren't your thing then there is also the anything goes birthday option, a great chance to build up your birthday stash!

I love this kombi stamp and have used it in the past with a peace sign brad!
I vaguely remember kombis also having a smiley cover on the spare tyre. It was coloured with oxide ink, layered onto a black circle then inked with versamark and clear embossed to add lots of shine.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Geometrics

Hi everyone, I used a new to me die from Paper Rose to create this panel.
The background was a bit of a grungy mess, made by spritzing distress spray stains and water. It was experimenting for fun, but looks ok once cut!

It was a quick and simple card to make, apart from the fiddly gluing lol.
The sentiment was diecut, stamped with versamark and embossed with Ranger black sparkle embossing powder.

I'm linking up to a few challenges:
AAA Birthday congratulations on your 2nd year!

AAA Cards are celebrating their 7th birthday! Congrats

Cardz 4 Guyz, create your own background.
I hope diecutting the background is ok.

Supplies:
Paper Rose geometric border die; distress spray stains; Mama Elephant happy script die; versamark ink & Ranger black sparkle ep; birthday sticker.

More infusions and a fern

Hi everyone, been clearing out my bits box to try and get my mojo going!
 Again! Oh well...

This is the negative of a card I made a year or so ago and I thought it would be perfect as a sympathy card.

The framed fern was diecut from white linen card and again from an infusions background (powder spritzed with water, a bit like brushos but with a vintage look)

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Make My Monday, sympathy

Penny Black framed fern and Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle dies; Paper Artsy infusions; Happy Little Stampers stamp from the thinking of you set; versafine clair ink & clear ep.

Watercooler Wednesday 316 - Cathy's Challenge : All about occasions

Hi everyone, it's my turn to host the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and it's all about occasions! Birthdays, celebrations, anniversaries, or in my case, a baby card!

The design team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

I love giraffes and a few years ago saw this card by Lisa Addesa. I need a special card to welcome a little boy, so am casing her card again.

The giraffe die is embossed using a rubber mat, then fussy cut to give a base layer upon which the diecut pieces are paper pieced. Lisa's instructions are fabulous for creating the giraffe!

I've used a piece of gingham dp as a background and a burlap impression plate from Papertrey Ink to emboss the top layer. This is laid onto a layer of fun foam to add some dimension.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp picture book giraffe die; Mpress heart die; Papertrey Ink burlap impression plate; Imaginisce little bundle of joy stamp; versafine ink & clear ep; scrap of ginham patterned paper; fun foam.

On your special day.

Hi everyone, I was excited to be asked to guest design for Retro Rubber as one of the winners of Challenge #154 with this card.

I love using my stash of older stamps, and this is the perfect challenge for using them, your stamps just need to be at least one year old.

This challenge has a tic tac toe theme:

I've gone with the diagonal hearts, heat embossing and something shiny.

I diecut the solid part of the heart vine from an inky background in my stash, then topped it with the outline layer cut from gold foil cardstock. It was a bit fiddly to glue but worth it I think!

The sentiment stamp is from the Especially For You set by Happy Little Stampers, (the company has closed down). I googled the set and it was released in 2016.
I stamped it with versafine nocturne ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.

Here's a closer look

The design team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Little Red Wagon, a theme for her.

Mix It Up Chalenge Blog, with the optional twist of up to 3 layers.
My card has 3 layers in parts, but I'd better stick with the anything goes option as it's still very CAS.

Supplies:
Honeybee Stamps lovely layers heart vine die; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; smooshed inky background using distress spray stains; gold foil cardstock; Happy Little Stampers especially for you sentiment.

Flower with Alcohol Inks

Hi everyone, I've been using up bit box scraps again!

I found a scrap of yupo with alcohol inks in blues and silver and it was big enough for a flower head!
Perfect for a thank you card.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and Marsha is hosting all things feminine.
The team have some wonderful ideas to inspire you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

It will be Mother's Day here soon, so I thought I'd better get some cards made for that!

I bought some designer paper pads that have an alcohol ink look to them, Craft Consortium Ink Drops, and this one is from the Dusk set.
Not sure I like all of the colours in the pack but I did love this blue and purple one.

I used some opaque matte texture paste and the Tim Holtz scribbles stencil to create this pattern, pretty  happy with how it turned out.
The butterfly is diecut from part of the same sheet.

I'm linking up to some challenges:

Always Fun Challenge, combine some old and new products.
I have had my stencil and butterfly die for ages, but the designer paper is new.

Darnell's NBUS Challenge, my paper pad is new.

Christmas 3D holly

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas and Christine has chosen the theme of foliage and berries.

Our guest this month is Robyn and she and the design team have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

This new die arrived last week, just in time for the challenge! It's a 3D embossing folder and die all in one.

I cut the holly from black card stock then rubbed on some antique brilliance wax in lucky emerald. I used fire ruby for the berries. I also added some gold metallic rub on paint to get more definition on the veins.

It looks better in real life, here's a closer look ot the shimmer.
