Underwater mermaid.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Lindsey has chosen the theme, create a scene.

You can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too.
The design team and our party guest, Carol have scenes galore to inspire you, so hope to see you in the gallery!

I used a brushos background for this underwater scene.

Brushos are a pigment powder that explode into colour when you spritz them with water!
You never know what sort of effect you'll get and if you aren't happy with it you can keep spritzing with water and smooshing it on a craft mat to get the effect you do like!

The mermaid was stamped with versafine ink, clear embossed, fussy cut and painted with opal paints.
Hard to capture the shimmer, so here's a closer look.

I added a mat of silver glitter card as the little girl this was for loves sparkles and mermaids!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday, favourite technique.
Creating inky backgrounds like this is one of my favourite techniques, as is fussycutting!
Stampin Up magical mermaid stamps; versafine clair nocturne and shady lane inks, clear ep; Art Alchemy opal magic paints; sentiment sticker; Couture Creations silver glitter card.

Anniversary Hearts.

Hi everyone, I'm using up some scraps from my project box and found this panel made with red acrylic paint scrunched with cling wrap on top. You set it aside to dry and when the cling wrap is removed there can be loads of texture and dimension.

There's not a lot of definition from the cling wrap in this piece, but I love the variation it's given the red.

I must make some more of these panels. It's a lot of fun!

I was inspired by the red of the raspberries, and the chocolate hearts, yum! My card is clean and simple in style.

Birthday heart.

Hi everyone, it;s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy has chosen hearts as the theme.

Of course anything birthday goes too, and if you need some inspiration, have a look at our party guest and the DT's wonderful cards!

I had stamped and fussycut a heart from a retired Stampin Up set Groovy Love, then decided it didn't go with the colours in the sentiment!

I turned the heart over and coloured it with oxide inks and embossed it with a tiny hearts folder,
I liked that better lol, although I think you can just see some of the heat embossed dots from the other side peeking through.
(It adds texture :)

The sentiment is also coloured with oxide inks and clear embossed for some shine.

Here's a closer look.

Christmas treat!

Hi everyone,
it's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas, and Susan has chosen the fun theme of cats or dogs.

Our guest designer Jane and my team mates have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I don't have many cat or dog images, other than my Katzelkraft ones, and I thought this pup looked like he was begging for a Christmas bone treat!

The dog and presents are stamped in versafine clair, clear embossed, fussycut and coloured with Prismacolour pencils.
The pressies are coloured with zigs.

The Merry die was inked with versamark and embossed with ranger blue tinsel embossing powder.
I glued the bone to the silver cord with glossy accents, thought I'd better cover the bone with it too since I'd made a mess lol!

Here's a closer look.
