Candles for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has chosen candles as our theme.

Or you can play along with our anything goes birthday option, it's a great way to build up your stash of birthday cards.

Our party guest and my team mates have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

I was never really into cute images, but am finding the older I get the more appealing they are lol!!
I bought this set as the tall candle cracked me up... and I love giraffes :)

I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils, and clear embossed the diecut letters for some shine.
(I may buy the matching die as colouring onto the actual card is too stressful lol!)

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Sleepy Koala

Hi everyone, my daily naps will come to an end soon!
Back to work next Friday and on the rollercoaster again lol.

This is a new to me die from Paper Rose.
I had some sprayed backgrounds that needed using up and thought it worked.

I've layered the koala diecut for dimension, although I think it can make the pic look a bit blurry? Could be my eyes!

I'm inking up to these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday, four legged animal.
Cardz 4 Guyz, birthday for a child.
I think the koala silhouette would suit an older child that loves animals.

Allsorts, using the winter blues option this time

There's a koala in the moodboard which reminded me I had this die

Since this is the koala's first outing I'm also popping back to Darnell's NBUS Challenge

Supplies:
Paper Rose koala in a tree die; distress stain sprays and oxide sprays; sentiment sticker.

Let Your Hair Down

Hi everyone, had a play with a new to me stamp and die set today.
It's an old set and when I saw it greatly reduced I relented and snapped it up lol!
I was inspired by one of the cards on the MFT site. Wish I could do Copic colouring!!

The clouds and grass are stencilled, and the image is coloured with Prismacolours.
I've made a few variations depending on the hair colour of the recipient!

Congratulations Blooms

Hi everyone, I hope the new year has started well for you.
I'm on holidays for a few weeks but am not planning much at this stage, lots of rest I think sounds good!

I was recently asked to be a guest at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and was delighted to accept!
It's such a fun challenge.

I went with the middle row across floral, free and sparkle.
It was a chance to use a new floral die that I have seen used a lot, as well as a new to me border die.
I was inspired by this card on pinterest by Karen Orme.

My sparkle is a bit hard to see in the pic so here's a close up - I used white shimmer card for the lattice.

The design team has some wonderful inspiration for you so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Winged things for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, welcome back to a new year and a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!
It was my turn to choose the theme for this turn...winged things.
Lots of scope for butterflies, bugs, planes, birds etc.

or play along with our anything goes birthday option

My team mates and our party guest have some amazing inspiration for you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

I bought this die set ages ago and this is it's first outing. I was inspired by this project by Emma Williams, I just love her dragonfly!

I diecut mine from silver metallic card and used distress glazes and gold embossing powder to colour the dragonfly. The die is 3 pieces so I used glossy accents to glue it together.

Here's a closer look at the shimmer and shine.

I used similar coloured sprays for the background tag with a spritz of gold glimmer mist, then embossed it for added texture. The embossing folder is also new to me.
The edges are tipped with walnut stain distress ink for definition.

Double D Challenge, celebrating their 7th birthday, congratulations!
