WWC 319 - Helen's Challenge : All things Feminine

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday  and Helen is hosting a feminine theme.

The design team have some wonderful inspiration for you so I hope you can play along.

I'm still playing with Inka Gold pastes. I open them up every month or so to check they haven't dried out, add some glycerine if necessary and use them lol!

I used champagne and jade on my craft mat, spritzed heavily with water, then smooshed my cardstock through it.
When dry I embossed it using a Sizzix 3D leaf folder.

The sentiment was diecut, inked with versamark and heat embossed with Lindy's midnight gold powder.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

I went with the diagonal of yellow, big sentiment and watercolour (smooshed Inka Gold)

Let's Squash It, nature and watercolouring.
Mix it Up Challenge Blog, anything goes without the option of stamping this time.

Supplies:
Inka Gold; Sizzix 3D fallen leaves embossing folder; Simon Says Stamp you die; Couture Creations love die; versamark ink; Lindy's midnight gold embossing powder.

3D embossing

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has asked us to get creative with an embossing folder.

Our party guest Melanie and the design team have some great inspiration for you, or you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option.

I have a lot of embossing folders but they have been a bit neglected lately, even though I've been adding some of the 3D ones to my stash!

This one is a  new to me Sizzix 3D embossing folder called wildflowers.

A tip I learned from watching the Tim Holtz demos was to spritz  some water lightly onto the card then run it through your machine (Big Shot Plus in my case) 3 times to get a deep impression. It seems to work every time.

Next I painted on some inkagold and got this lovely shine.

Here's a closer look.

The butterfly was inked with versamark then embossed with Wow embossing glitter. I added a layer of vellum for some definition.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

As You Like It, favourite tip and use it on your project.

Allsorts, playing along with just anything goes.

Mix it Up Challenge Blog, without the option of stamping.

Simon Says Stamp Monday, I can see clearly. I used vellum under the top butterfly wings.

Supplies:
Sizzix 3D embossing folder wildflowers; Inka Gold rose quartz; Memory Box Lunette and Oriel butterfly dies; versamark ink; Wow vintage romance embossing glitter; vellum; sentiment sticker.

Delicious blueberries!

Hi everyone,
my son is the harvest manager at our local blueberry farm.
I found this retired Stampin Up set for sale and made this card for him!

It's a bit hard getting the right colour with the inks, so I painted some blue and plum twinkling H2Os on top of the inked image.

Here's a look at the shimmer.

I'm linking up to some challenges:

Alphabet Challenge, E is for easy simple card
As You Like it Challenge, favourite style, CAS or fully fancy and why.
I prefer making CAS cards to fancy ones, layering is something I definitely struggle with!
Love the look of white space on a card.

Supplies:
Stampin Up Berry Blessings stamps; Versafine Clair blue belle, shady lanr and nocturne inks;
clear ep; twinkling H2Os wild plum and twilight; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die.

WWC 317 - Heidi's Challenge : All things masculine

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and Heidi is our host with a masculine theme.
The team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

I bought this cactus die not long ago and decided it would be great for a male occasion.
I diecut the pieces and coloured them with various distress inks using finger daubers.
I've used a cream or ivory panel as white looked too stark and thought a kraft base tied it all together.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Darnell's NBUS Challenge, my cactus die is a newbie!

Little Red Wagon, make it masculine

Supplies:
Sizzix funky cactus dies: Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; distress inks; Happy Little Stampers Mix Mash sentiment stamp; versafine clair ink & clear ep.
