Photo Paper Feathers

Hi everyone, I made up some more backgrounds with glossy photo paper and distress oxide inks.
I love this technique as you never know what you're going to end up with.

I put oxide ink on my craft mat, spritzed with water then smooshed the glossy photo paper into it. When it's dry, use a baby wipe or a damp cloth to remove the chalky residue.

I wanted to play along with a few challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday bright cheerful colours.

Dies R Us, anything goes. The feather die is from Hero Arts.

Supplies:
Hero Arts layering feather die; distress oxide inks; glossy photo paper; Darice crackle embossing folder; Paper Smooches sentiment sampler stamp; versafine ink & clear ep.

Spring Flowers

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and TaeEun has chosen a Spring flowers theme.

There are loads of gorgeous florals by the design team and our guest Linda to inspire you, or you can play along with our anything goes birthday option.

Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I tend to use the same dies a lot and decided for a change to dig through my stash for some that hadn't been used in ages.

These flower tops were diecut from a background made with distress and oxide sprays.
(I don't know if it's just me but the picked raspberry spray stain squirts rather than sprays, even with a new spray top on the bottle!)

The ground was inked with oxides and distress inks. I glued the top over another layer to add some dimension.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday, clean and simple
Inkspirational, grow, I've gone with flowers.

Supplies:
Dies: Memory Box painted flower stems and Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle.
Sprays: antique linen, picked raspberry and squeezed lemonade stains and milled lavender and tattered rose oxides.
Inks: lucky clover and peeled paint oxides; forest moss and pine needles distress inks;
Other: sentiment sticker.

Rainbow stencilled hello

Hi everyone, I''m back with the tag that I stencilled using the Doodled Art #1 stencil by Tim Holtz.
I had to be careful with the blending tool as there are so many delicate pieces!

After inking with oxides, I replaced the stencil and gave it a spray with dazzling diamonds glimmer mist.
Here's a closer look at the shimmer.

I created a stencilled monoprint with the leftover ink and made this card with some of it.
Had enough to make another tag too which I'll share another time.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Double D Challenge, anything with a rainbow, unicorn or mermaid.

I hope enough of the doodled flower is showing to be eligible.

Supplies:
Tim Holtz Doodle Art #1 stencil; distress oxide inks; Glimmer mist dazzling diamonds spray; MFT pierced & traditional tag dies; Hello die (no longer in it's packet!)

Brontosaurus with oxides and photo paper

Hi everyone, I was asked to make a birthday card for a child who loves dinosaurs.
I've used the T Rex from this set before but thought I'd try the brontosaurus.

It's a huge die! But then it was a huge dinosaur lol!

I still have a few backgrounds made with oxide inks smooshed onto photo paper, then wiped  with a baby wipe to bring out the colours and remove the chalkiness from the oxides.
I need to make some more as I have loads of photo paper and this is such a fun technique.

For the background I put tea dye and pumice stone oxide inks on my craft mat, spritzed with water and smooshed onto cardstock. I love the rocky marbled look it has.

The birthday diecut was embossed with black sparkle embossing powder.

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the team are celebrating 12 years of challenges with a birthday theme.
Congratulations on such a great milestone!

Dies R Us, anything goes with a brand of die sold in store, I've used Tim Holtz Sizzix.

Mix It Up Challenge Blog, anything goes and I'm playing with the no stamping option.

Unicorn Challenge Blog, include an animal.

Supplies:

Tim Holtz Sizzix prehistoric die; Simon Says stamp Happy Birthday die; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; distress oxide inks; photo paper; versamark ink; black sparkle embossing powder; happy sticker.

Stencil monoprint butterflies

Hi everyone, I had a play with a new stencil, Doodle Art 1 by Tim Holtz, and after I had created a rainbow coloured tag with it there was a lot of ink left on the stencil.
(I'll show the tag in another post)

Not wanting to waste the ink I pressed it onto some cardstock, covered it with a paper towel and pressed firmly to transfer the ink. It left a cool impression, a stencilled monoprint.

I diecut some of it into these delicate butterflies.

I layered up my card then decided to add the leaves, next time I'll play around with the position in my misti as the circle is a bit wonky! Might help with stamping on the textured base too!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Allsorts has a theme of birds, butterflies or bees.

As You Like It Challenge wants to know which is your favourite, stencilling or embossing and why.

I like wet and dry embossing and stencilling, but stencilling is just so much fun! It can add so much colour and texture to a design, yet still be CAS and one layer, or it can help to add lots of dimension and grunge with pastes and sprays.
You can also create your own stencils with diecuts too so the range is huge.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge,
I chose stencil, free (diecutting) and used the word Mum, well Mother!

Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge

Supplies:
Tim Holtz Doodle Art #1 stencil; distress oxide inks; Poppystamps Lyndon butterfly die; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; Papertrey Ink Turning a new leaf stamp; Casual Fridays Mum's the word sentiment stamp; versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep.

WWC 313 - Tristan's Challenge : all things masculine

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at  Watercooler Wednesday  and it's a masculine challenge from Tristan.

The design team have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I made a set of cards using this typewriter stamp and die as a gift for my Mum's birthday. (She uses a typewriter to send letters so I thought this was perfect for her.)

For the set I used a range of typewriter colours and tapes and had sentiments for birthdays and general greetings.
I thought these colours were suitable for a male.

I bought the die and stamp set from Sugarpea Designs a while ago with my Mum in mind, it was fun layering the typewriter up and I finally got to use some of my washi tape stash!

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Cardz 4 Guyz, use something new in your stash

Darnell's NBUS Challenge, for new or unused goodies.

Cuttlebug Mania, polka dots. I used the Sugarpea Designs You're My Type dies with my trusty Cuttlebug.

Supplies:
Sugarpea designs Just my type stamp and die; versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep; Stampin Up washi tape; Fiskars star punch.

Mix It Up Challenge Blog, anything goes and I've used no stamping, the sentiment is a sticker.
