Paper pieced daisy

Hi, the rain has slowed down here for now luckily! January has been extreme to say the least, bushfires in some areas and floods in others! Hope everyone in those affected areas is doing ok. The creek is up in the paddocks opposite our place, but it'll  go down quickly again if we get no more rain.

Didn't seem to worry the kangaroos near our driveway!!

Simon Says Stamp has a paper piecing challenge this week. It's the first time I've done this technique so I thought I'd keep it nice and simple.

The stamp is a Lucys stamp, and the date on it is 1998-2002. It's probably one of the first that I bought!!

I cut out the stamped image on cardstock, and then cut the flower parts out of scraps of designer paper. I enjoyed all the fussy cutting, but the glueing with glossy accents was tricky!! Probably should've used a bigger stamp!

Materials used: Lucys stamp; Swiss dots embossing folder; Memory Box wisteria card base; glossy accents; Crystal stickles; scrap card and sentiment sticker from stash.

Congratulations star!

Hi, this is my entry in this week's Less is More challenge.  I've only tried a few sketch challenges and this one looked simple enough for me.

Here are the details and the sketch: Join in at:

Sketch #8
This week we have a sketch for you drawn by Jen.
It's simplicity itself, so to add a little constraint, we ask that the card stays in this orientation ie that the band remains in the horizontal plane, in the lower part of the card and that it takes up no more than 1/3rd of the height of the cardbase.

and here is my card

I'm also linking this card to http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com.au/ where the challenge is to use snippets!  Thanks Viv for the details.

I hate wasting cardstock, so I punch any small scraps that I have and save them in a little drawer. It's nearly overflowing! Thought this sketch would suit a star confetti card!

I tried putting a patch of glue down and sprinkling the stars on but found that individually gluing each one in place was better.

Materials used: Fiskars star punch; My Favorite Things star die; sentiment sticker from stash.

Fun cats!

Hi, this is my entry in this week's Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge. The theme is to create a project based on what you are known for.

I'm known for procrastinating!! Luckily not as much with my cards! I guess my go to style would be dry embossing or using desgner paper as a background, and then adding diecuts, or embellishments and a sticker as a sentiment.

Even when I stamp images I tend to fussy cut them and pop them up on the card as an embellishment!

Blogging begins!!

While I'm on holidays I thought I'd try a few posts and see how I go! It's very hot here - 42 degrees on the verandah so card making is progressing very slowly! I'll upload a card soon :)
