Hi everyone, have you had a chance to play along with the challenge at CAS Stencil yet?
Julia has chosen baby wipes as our technique to use with a stencil. There are some wonderful ideas for inspiration on the challenge blog, so I hope you can play along
I think I'm a bit too heavy handed with the wipes! Inking up some card and then blotting or wiping away the ink wasnt working for me. I was tearing the cardstock.
So I decided to add some white gesso through the stencil onto white card, then used some pink oxide ink to add colour.
I laid the stencil back on and used the baby wipe to remove the ink from the flowers.
I managed to get a result I was happy with!
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Seize the Birthday with the anything goes birthday option.
AAA Birthday use a stencil.
Simon Says Stamp Monday where the theme is monochrome.
Supplies:
Kaisercraft blossoms stencil; white gesso; distress oxide inks; Memory Box Moonlight butterfly die from my UFO box!; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; sentiment sticker; pink pearlized cardstock.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

Wow what a pretty card. Love all the pink. Hugs Mrs A.
Another fabulous way to use a baby wipe! The flowers look amazing with the gesso layer and then colour lifted with the baby wipe. They have lots of depth from the gesso layer. Gorgeous card Cathy! The black framing adds lots of contrast against the pink --- beautiful! xx
Well, you created your own lovely technique using babywipes Cathy! Love the texture you achieved using the gesso - so pretty in the cream and pink! Your rhinestoned butterfly is the perfect adornment over your flower panel! xx
Your flower panel is darling, Cathy.
Very clever and creative baby wipe technique using Gesso thru the stencil then coloring with pink ink. Then lifting color thru the stencil with your baby wipe to remove pink from your flowers. Looks Great!! TFS your technique, Cathy. Really pretty texture and Gorgeous watercolored and die cut butterfly.
Hugs..Nancy
OOOWW a gorgeous pink floral card Cathy, your stencilwork turned out a treat, very soft and pretty.... I had trouble with the 'lift' bit too. Hugs Robyn
A beautiful card Cathy and love all the shades of pink, and one of your pretty butterflies to embellish that lovely baby wipe background. x
Very pretty in pink. I love the stencil. Great idea for using the baby wipe technique too xx
You found a great way to make this card pop. The flowers actually look recessed and it gives nice dimension. Pretty butterfly to adorn it.
So pretty in pink. And genius to use Gesso... it really defines the design. x
Ooh, how pretty!
This is so pretty! My baby wipes are totally dry... not sure they'd qualify for the challenge! :D
This is such a pretty card, Cathy! I love how you created so much dimension on the flowers with Gesso and your butterfly is just beautiful! I'm loving all the pink, too...such a lovely birthday card!
So pretty especially the background and I love how you added the gesso to make the finished card work for you x
