80th Birthday Banner!

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday

TaeEun has chosen the theme of geometric shapes, and there are loads of fantastic ideas by our party guest and design team to inspire you.

Although you can always play along with anything goes as long as it's a birthday theme.

I made this card for one of the residents at the nursing home where my Mum is living. He was so excited to tell me that his big birthday milestone was approaching!

The banner is diecut from a "failed" background made by smooshing distress oxide inks on photo paper, then wiping away the chalkiness with a baby wipe. Diecutting the banner toned down the discordant colours a lot lol!

I've inked the numbers with versamark and embossed with black sparkle powder. I added a couple of layers for dimension.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday where it's anything goes.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp party banner and Memory Box parker number dies; distress oxide inks; glossy photo paper; versamark ink & black sparkle ep; sentiment sticker.

Lots of pink!

Hi everyone, have you had a chance to play along with the challenge at CAS Stencil yet?
Julia has chosen baby wipes as our technique to use with a stencil. There are some wonderful ideas for inspiration on the challenge blog, so I hope you can play along

I think I'm a bit too heavy handed with the wipes! Inking up some card and then blotting or wiping away the ink wasnt working for me. I was tearing the cardstock.
So I decided to add some white gesso through the stencil onto white card, then used some pink oxide ink to add colour.
I laid the stencil back on and used the baby wipe to remove the ink from the flowers.
I managed to get a result I was happy with!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Seize the Birthday with the anything goes birthday option.

AAA Birthday use a stencil.

Groovy Birthday.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!
The theme, Colleen has chosen is it's just a number.

Or, you can play along with anything goes birthday.

The design team and our party guest have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I've been playing with some retired Stampin Up stamps, Tie Dyed.
I spritzed some water on watercolour paper and inked up the 3 spiral stamps in various dye ink colours.

I thought the swirls went well with the groovy die, and diecut the word from a failed tie dyed attempt lol!
The number was inked with versamark and embossed with some midnight violet powder.

Happy Birthday Human!

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at CAS Stencil and the theme this time is to use a baby wipe with your stencil.

There are some tutorials on the challenge site to help with this technique, and the design team and guest have some amazing cards to inspire you. I hope you can play along!

I'd been asked to make a robot birthday card and only had this retired set from Stampin Up.
I thought it went well with this stencil from Funky Fossil Designs.

I inked up some card with distress inks in blue, taped the stencil over the top and gently wiped some of the colour away with a baby wipe. (I think a larger stencilled design would work better!)

The robot is stamped in versafine ink, embossed with fine metallic silver powder and coloured with a silver Prismacolour pencil.

I layered the stencilled panel onto some metallic paper, then black to help it to pop against the white.
Then I cut the card front with a stitched rectangle die as I thought it needed a black frame!
Getting to be borderline CAS lol!

I'm linking up to the challenge at
AAA Birthday where the theme is to use a stencil.

and to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday where the theme is to stamp it.

Grumpy cat!

Hi everyone, I was excited to be asked to guest design at CASology after winning a challenge in May.

I love CAS cards although sometimes I find it hard to stop adding things. This challenge blog gives you lots of wonderful tips to help though and the design team are super talented.

The theme this time is

I've made a few humorous cards lately, and knew I'd probably use a Katzelkraft critter again!
I love this grumpy cat, and the saying is me on a bad day lol!
He is stamped in versafine, clear embossed, fussy cut and coloured with Prismacolour pencils.

The speech bubble is a stamp and die from Stampin Up. I masked out the original sentiment and replaced it with this one from Art Impressions.

I'm linking up to a few challenges:
