Welcome baby in purple.

Hi everyone, I've been making cards for baby girls as that's what families seem to be having here!
Thought I'd try a change from pinks and yellows and go with purple!

I've used designer paper for the elephant and coloured the sentiment with a recently purchased (retired) ink.
It looks a bit ombre but ok I think. I added some versamark ink and clear embossed it for some shine.

The eye is a recently purchased Pretty Pink posh 3mm sequin, so sparkly!

I'm using a new to me 3D embossing folder. I've used wax in different colours to highlight the texture.

Sending Hugs 3D embossing

Hi everyone, I've been trying out a new to me technique with some 3D embossing folders.
Inking the folder on the concave side then placing the cardstock in to run it through my Big Shot Plus.

Need more play time with my blending and choosing colours but I'm having a lot of fun!
I spritzed the finished panel with dazzling diamonds for some shimmer.
Here's a closer look.

I inked the black diecut sentiment with versamark and clear embossed to add some shine.
The hugs stamp was clear embossed and fussycut to try and fit as best it could.

Birthday Horse Ride

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen travel as the theme.

Of course, you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option, it's a great way to build up your stash of birthday cards!

My team mates and our guest Melanie have some wonderful ideas to inspire you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I had it in my head that I was making a card for a transport theme, so I thought I'd do a horse and rider.
I guess they could have travelled to the country to ride!

I've had this stamp for ages and only used it the once. It definitely needs a stamp press to get a solid image, and I clear embossed it to darken the image even more as some of the mountains were showing through!

I saw this card by Michelle Zindorf on pinterest and loved the background so gave it a go.
My torn paper inking needs a bit more practice but it's a fun technique. I used distress inks for the sky, mountains and grass.

The grass stamps are covering some messy bits and I think they add some depth.

Allsorts, feminine theme.

Poinsettia Panel

Hi everyone, have you had a chance to play along with the current challenge at CAS Christmas yet?

Linda is looking for cards with poinsettias, there are loads of wonderful makes by the design team and in the gallery for inspiration so I hope you can join in, there's still plenty of time.

I used the small poinsettia die again and and shaped the leaves and petals. Added a diecut  decorative panel as a background. There's a piece of white shimmer paper behind this, bit hard to see in the pic so here's a closer look. Still a bit hard to see lol!

The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set, stamped in versafine clair ink and clear embossed.

WWC 320 - Dawn's Challenge : All About Occasions

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and Dawn is hosting an all occasions theme.

One of our small local school's had a fireworks night recently, so I thought I'd combine some of my NBUS fireworks stamps, and since we live in a rural area,  some trees into this design

Bit tricky embossing over the ink blended background as the powder wants to stick, need a bit more practice I think, and maybe a new embossing buddy tool lol!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Allsorts, masculine theme

Supplies:
MFT Fireworks stamp; SU Lovely as a tree stamp; versafine clair nocturne ink; Wow metallic silver sparkle embossing glitter and Wow opaque bright white ep; fine detail clear ep; distress inks; sentiment sticker.

Scottie Dog

Hi everyone it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and TaeEun has chosen framed as the theme.

The design team and our party guest Melanie have some great ideas to inspire you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I kept my frame very simple, a pop of red to match the scottie dog's scarf.

I've made a few cards using this die, sometimes the dog is white and sometimes black.

I use snowtex to add texture so it looks like his fur, and coloured it with some black acrylic paint before applying it. It's messy but fun and I love the look!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

AAA Birthday

Supplies:
Marianne Design dog die; DecoArt snow tex paste; black acrylic paint; Daisy Mae Design gingham embossing folder; sentiment sticker.

Holiday Poinsettia.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas and Linda has chosen poinsettias as the theme.

The design team and our guest Sandra have some amazing inspiration for you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

This card uses diecuts only. 2 of them I've had for ages but not used, the sentiment and frame.

The sentiment was inked with versamark and embossed with aged gold frantage embossing enamel.
I diecut the small poinsettia from red and green cardstock and used some shaping tools and a mouse mat to give the petals and leaves some dimension.
Thes's a tiny smear of crystal stickles on the gold centre to liven it up!

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Dies R Us, anything goes, I've used Penny Black and Poppy Stamps dies.
I've gone with the diagonal of silver/gold/flowers/pink or red.

Supplies:
Dies: Poppystamps small blooming poinsettia and jumbled happy holidays; Penny Black square frames;
Other: versamark ink; Stampendous aged gold frantage embossing enamel; Stickles.
