Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has chosen vellum or transparencies as the theme.
Of course, you can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too!
Our party guest Julie and my team mates have some wonderful ideas to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.
I diecut a vellum tag for the sentiment as this doesn't interfere with the embossed background.
The butterflies are stamped with versafine clair nocturne ink, clear embossed, fussy cut and coloured with Inktense pencils and a waterbrush.
I've used double sided tape on the vellum under the butterflies to secure the tag to the card.
I'm linking up to some challenges:
Always Fun Challenge, use your favourite product.
Apart from butterfly stamps, I love my Inktense pencils!
Let's Squash It, use a named embossing folder and add an animal.
Mix it up Challenge Blog, anything goes, without the optional bleaching this time.
Hero Arts antique engravings butterfly stamp; Annabelle Stamps sentiment (retired); versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep; vellum; MFT tag die; Couture Creations entangle embossing folder; Inktense pencils (amber; sienna gold and dark aquamarine).
Thanks for visiting,
Love this Cathy!
Your butterfly cards are always so amazing, Cathy! I love the colours you've used and how they are blended. The butterflies look so delicate done on vellum and it makes them look real! Lovely background with all that texture. xx
Love the colours on your butterflies and set against the white really makes them look 3D. The vellum adds a nice delicate backdrop, fab inspiration x
Striking card with the butterflies that you have colored so well and placed on a background of white and vellum. A card the recipient will love.

This is a really elegant CAS card Cathy and love the black stamped butterflies colouring that pretty yellow and green and with the added gems on the bodies, and the wonderful embossed background with the tag shaped piece of vellum for the butterflies and sentiment to sit on so beautifully. x

gorgeous...love the way you coloured the butterflies.
That's what I love about vellum - it gives that subtle layer that shows off the background along with letting us create an easy focal point. The butterflies look lovely! Awesome card, Cathy!
This is so elegant and classy! The vellum tag is a perfect panel for those beautifully coloured butterflies. Love the embossing folder you chose as well.
