Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and our wonderful leader Nancy wants us to use layers!
I used a new to me layering die for this challenge. Altenew's gentle giraffes.
One of my favourite animals!
I used a tan/kraft card for the top 2 layers and inked them up with distress inks in antique linen and tea dye with a touch of brushed corduroy to give some shading. The base layer is a chocolate brown.
I inked up the background with oxides and a frame stencil, added some greenery
and a sticker sentiment.
I'm linking up to these challenges:
I've used both dies and a stencil frame
Altenew gentle giraffes layering die; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die;
Pinkfresh Studio leafy branch die; Darkroom Door rectangle stencil; distress ink; oxide inks; Crackerbox stamp grass stamp; versafine clair shady lane ink & clear ep; sentiment sticker.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

This giraffe is so cute Cathy and the layers give it lots of dimension, and the dark coloured base layer gives it more definition. The background with the inked rectangular masked background and foliage looks great, and the dark coloured sentiment sticker stands out well. x
Wonderful layered birthday card. Cute giraffe. Great design too.
You brought this giraffe to life with your perfect shading. A beautiful animal in a gentle scene. A lovely birthday card, Cathy!
Cathy, your giraffe scene is adorable. Awesome card. Have a great weekend.
Love your card Cathy with that cute Giraffe - such a lovely scene you have created xx
I absolutely love giraffes too, Cathy! This little guy was shaded perfectly. I might have told you this before, but I was licked by a Giraffe at Busch Gardens-Theme Park about 25 years ago. Quite the experience. You have made an awesome scene card.
Great scene - love how the leaf goes over the border. Thanks for sharing with us at Dragonfly Dreams :)
Fun birthday card Cathy!! xx
This perfectly colored giraffe has the front and center interest on this card. A great scene and done well.
