Framed Butterflies

Hi, I've been inspired to make this card by a couple of challenges.

At Simon Says Stamp & Show, the challenge this week is to use a little paper. It can be a sheet from a small designer pad, or a small piece of a larger dp.

I used a piece of designer paper that was part of an invitation that I received a few years ago. The wording was on vellum attached by a brad to this lovely paper. I thought it might come in handy one day! I've still got some left for another couple of cards.

Here's another shot that shows the paper's design better.

At Just Add Ink, a new challenge for me, the theme this week is to use woodgrain in your project.
I was tempted to use my woodgrain stamp again, but remembered this impression plate that I bought from Lil Inkers a while ago. I distressed the woodgrain frame to highlight the texture.

The butterfly stamp is one I borrowed from my sister so I don't know the brand, she's had it for years. I coloured them with prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from Annabelle stamps.

I'm also going to enter the Anything Goes challenge at Make It Monday, and the open or Anything Goes challenge at Flutterby Wednesdays

Thanks for visiting :)

Hi Cathy,
The more I visit your blog, the more I love your cards... this card is just plain awesome... I thought it had a wooden frame and only on reading further realized that it was paper. That vellum paper is woowwww. I would have never thought of using it this way. I have so so much vellum from wedding cards waiting to be recycled but I did not know how... Well now I do and that's thanks to you.
