Hi, this is my entry in this week's  Less is More  Paper Piercing challenge. It's a birthday card for my 17 year old niece.
It's my first attempt at paper piercing. I used the back of a mouse pad and a large sewing needle to pierce the holes. I had a few goes and while there is definately room for improvement, this was my most consistently even effort.

Materials used: EK Success punch; Memory Box die; Kaisercraft stamp; cardstock & bling from stash.

Hearts and Flowers

Hearts and Flowers by cathroff
Hearts and Flowers, a photo by cathroff on Flickr.
Hi, wet weather has kept us indoors this weekend. A good excuse to stay in my craft room!

I used punches to make this card, which means, I used lots of snippets and left overs. Except for the red, I had to cut a strip from a new piece of card for the hearts! Spent ages looking for a scrap first though!

So, I'm entering the Snippets Playground again over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop. It's great fun, shame when I have to pack up and go home!

This will also be my 2nd entry into this month's challenge over at Scrapbook Boutique. If you live in Australia please join in.
The theme is love and here is the delicious looking cupcake inspiration photo.

Materials used: various punches;  Stampin Up square lattice embossing folder; cardstock, bling & sentiment sticker from stash.

Butterfly Flight, a photo by cathroff on Flickr.
Hi, this is my entry in this week's Less is More challenge Up in the Air.
I don't think I have any other stamps that really suited other than butterflies. I tend to do a lot of white based cards and it feel's less CAS doing a coloured base, I guess that's what challenges are all about though!

Materials used: Divine Swirl embossing folder; Prismacolor pencils; Hologram embossing powder; stamp, ribbon and sentiment sticker from stash.

Congratulations Heart

Hi, I made this card for the latest challenge at Cas(E) this Sketch. This stamp is a very old Print Blocks one. I cut the centre of the heart out and put pink tissue paper behind it. I also had to cut away the gold paper behind the heart as it darkened the pink too much.

Love Hearts

Love Hearts by cathroff
Love Hearts, a photo by cathroff on Flickr.
Hi ,I tried a new technique on this card to colour my hearts, sponging ink.
It's early days yet, but it was fun to try a change from distress inks!!

I was inspired by Heather Telford's beautiful cards. She's also done a tutorial on sponging and masking, so I'm hoping to try a few more ideas using this method. I'm amazed by all of the incredibly talented people in our community who so generously share their work, thank you!

I am entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Have a Heart, join in here.

Also the February contest over at Hero Arts. The theme is Love & Lace.
Find all the details here.

Materials used: Hero Arts Lattice cling stamp; Provocraft Love Language dies and embossing folder; watercolor paper; versamark ink; clear ep; Brilliance rocket red gold ink.

Butterfly Birthday

Butterfly Birthday by cathroff
Butterfly Birthday, a photo by cathroff on Flickr.
Hi, managed to get into my craft room tonight to have a play with another card!

I need to get all of my scrap bits and pieces organized. At the moment they're in a few tubs, depending on size rather than colour! It's getting time consuming to sift through them all.

I used a little bit up with the butterfly dies for this card! I cut a white base and a purple and black top layer. It was fiddly but fun mixing up the little negative pieces and gluing them back in!

I'm entering this card into the Snippets Playground over at http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com.au/

and also into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes this week. Join in at http://www.simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com.au/

Birthday Stars!, a photo by cathroff on Flickr.
Hi, I can't believe I've made 2 cards in 1 day!! At least the washing is pegged out. Sadly, the rest of the housework is being neglected!

This is my entry in the Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge - Seeing Stars.
Join in at http://www.simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com.au/

I cut these stars out using my MFT country charms die, and glued 2 of each together to make them sturdy enough to thread the ribbon through. The silk ribbon is gorgeous to touch, a friend cleaned out her embroidery scraps :)
Materials used: stars embossing folder; MFT country charms die; silk ribbon.; foam dots; sentiment sticker from stash.
