Sand & Shells

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and our fearless leader Nancy has chosen by the sea as the theme!

Of course, you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option too.

Our party guest this month is Jenny, and welcome to Jules, our newest team mate.
They, along with the rest of the team have some wonderful cards to inspire you. Look forward to seeing your makes in the gallery!

I think I've only used these starfish and seashell dies once,  and the background stamp just a couple of times.
I really need to make more use of what I have and spend less time searching for new goodies lol!

Anyway, I'm not a beach person, but if I do go to the seaside you'll fine me wandering in the sand looking for seashells.

The background was stamped with antique linen oxide ink.
The shells were coloured with a light peach chameleon pen, vintage photo distress ink and then a paint wash of inka gold in rose quartz, champagne or silver,

Here's a closer look at the shine.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

As You Like It Challenge, favourite primary colour and why.

My favourite primary colour is blue, it's a relaxing and peaceful colour and you just have to look at the sky to feel that way!

Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog, anything goes + a sentiment

I was inspired by the colours and the prominent starfish. My card is in the clean and layered category I think.

The Male Room celebrating their 8th birthday, congratulations!

Supplies:
Impression Obsession Gradation stamp and seashells die; antique linen oxide ink; chameleon pen light peach; vintage photo distress ink & inka gold pastes in champagne; silver and rose quartz; Mama Elephant happy script die; versamark ink & ranger turquoise embossing powder; birthday sticker.

Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

This gorgeous Cathy!!! I'm going to have to check out the inka metallics because your shells are fabulous. I'm excited to be part of this lovely team and while I'm here *wink* I would be remiss if I didn't thank you for linking this treasure to the HLS die challenge. :-) xxx--JulieP

OMG! Cathy, I am not sure what I like more...the way you did the background and left the edge white to look like the sea, or the way your shells shimmer and shine! Awesome job with the topping! Stay well!

The dies look beautiful on the stamped background - I have that stamp too and rarely use it. Thanks for the inspiration, as it makes a great "sandy" background!

Gorgeous! I was about to comment that you've made such a fantastic card even using so little blue (cuz that's the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of sea), but as I scrolled down, the shine of those shells just took my breath away! Just gorgeous!
