Hi everyone, I've been playing with a new card sized die that arrived not long ago. It's called Bloomtangled coverplate #1 by Stamplorations. I've been having lots of fun with it!
For this card I thought I'd diecut part of the panel and back it with a scrap of card I'd smooshed gelatos onto. It has a shimmer that's hard to see in the pic.
The base card has a hammered impression on it which gives a subtle texture. It's getting harder to find this cardstock in Australia, which is a shame as I really like it.
The sentiment is 2 stamps from an old Darkroom Door set called Simply Circles. The circle is what picks up the ink so the sentiment is whatever colour card you stamp on. I embossed the circles with clear ep, then fussy cut the words out. The date on the stamp tin is 2011, so since it's over 1 year old, I'm linking up to the anything goes challenge at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.
Stamplorations have a massive 5th birthday celebration happening, and there are lots of ways to win prizes. One is to CASE one of the DT cards. I've chosen Jessica's card here. She partially coloured the card using this die, so I thought I'd just use part of the die.
I'm also linking up to the challenge at Less is More where the theme is friendship.
At Cuttlebug Mania the theme is to frame it.
I've framed the diecut with a white mat and then a black mat to tie in with the stamped sentiment.
I needed to use a metal plate with this die in my cuttlebug and cranked it slowly as it's so big.
The layered mats were from my snippets box, so I'm also visiting the playground at
Supplies:
Stamplorations Bloomtangled coverplate #1 die: gelatos; Darkroom Door Simply Circles stamp; versafine ink & clear ep.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

Beautiful card, Cathy. The soft color and that die are awesome. Do you make your own envelopes for that size card. The textured paper is so pretty and it's a shame it is hard to find. Maybe Amazon?
Smashing make, love the delicate colours you chose

An elegant card - love the die
Such delicate and pretty colours on the background and love that partial die cut x
Wonderful card, Cathy. The die cut is beautiful and I love the colours you've chosen. xx
How creative you are to use a part of the cover plate, Cathy! I'll see my cover plates differently. :-)
Love the soft and lovely gelatos colors peeking through the die-cut! Great combination of the textures too. Hideko xx
Gelatos background is dazzling, I love its bright, delicate colors. It fits beautifully with this new die. Beautiful!
Love the soft gelato background Cathy and really love how you cut down that gorgeous coverplate. I have that one and another on it's way. You could try PlazaDJ for the card stock. I think I still have a few pieces from there.
Love how you have used the die cut and the soft background behind it is just perfect. Think this is the best I have seen with this background, not over powering the card, love it.
So elegant and also soft colours as well! Love it!
Hugs

Soft and delicate and lovely, Cathy ... the black mat really draws the eye to that subtle, sorbet coloured background! Hugs, Anita :)
Some fun techniques went into creating this fabulous card. Just wow! Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber!
Absolutely beautiful, Cathy ! Love the delicate background you've made with your gelatos. And this die cut panel is fabulous, very clever to use only a part of it (thanks for the tip !). I also love your white cardstock, would love to find it here. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at Less is More.
Such a perfect subtle background. Super classy and elegant and a lovely take on our friendship challenge at Less is More. Thanks for joining us.
Love this die cut and the soft colors behind it!
love the soft pastel greens with the white die cut. So pretty. Thanks for helping STAMPlorations celebrate 5 years.
Such a beautiful coverplate die Cathy with a really soft and pretty background, and love the white on black sentiment strip which stands out really well against it. x
