Hi, I hope you've been enjoying your weekend. It's late Sunday afternoon here and I thought I'd finish off this project before I start getting things ready for work tomorrow.
I bought this filmstrip die to use with photo thumbnails. I don't do scrapbooking although I've made cards for my boys in the past that have included thumbnails of various pics from over the years. I usually mat the photos and spend ages trying to get straight and even edges!
I'm going to link up to the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, the theme is tick tock. I've used pics through childhood to show time passing.
Just Add Ink, the theme is to just add a sunburst. I borrowed this sizzix embossing folder and distressed it with a couple of brown inks.
Pixie's Crafty Workshop, I cut 2 filmstrips from snippets of black cardstock and layered them together for more definition.
Materials use: Poppy stamps Bijou filmstrip die; Sizzix sunburst embossing folder; distress inks; thumbnail photos and sentiment sticker from stash.
Thanks for visiting :)
this is fabulous Cathy - brilliant xx
What memories these photos invoke - such beautiful boys you have and am so proud of you all Love Mxx
Hi Cathy, what a super card - a great idea to incorporate photos with the film strip and back them with that fab sunray embossed background. Elizabeth xx
What a fun card and a neat memento in one! I'm loving the sunburst background. I never would have thought to pair a sunburst and a film strip.
I definitely had to click to get a closer look at this unusual and awesome card! What a cool idea to make a memory card that will be treasured always!! Hugs, Darnell
WOW love that sunburst embossing folder and the distress inks really give it some depth!
Thanks for joining the challenge at Just Add Ink this week.

Very cool card. Love the little filmstrip of pictures, and your background is stunning.
I don't scrapbook either, so lots of the elements needed for pages (like 12x12 dp) are beyond my skills most times. This is great, and I love the way you used that sunburst EF. Great color depth on it too, to show off your filmstrip. This is a wonderful card Cathy. Well done! TFS & Hugs
Hi Cathy, brilliant! Super use of the sunburst and the filmstrip together :)
I've been eyeing up the filmstrip die, and this shows how dumb I am - I'd never thought of putting photos in!
Hugs, Di xx
The embossed sun rays are so striking Cathy and make a great background for your filmstrip. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
OMG - this card is amazing!!!!!!!! Love that filmstrip and so cool to combine it with that embossing folder! Such a treasure!
This is such a fabulous layout! Love the beautiful texture on the background and the pretty filmstrip. Those photos are precious. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. :)
Great card there Cathy. If that is a sizzix die, I have it too. I bought it when I first started scrapbooking and have hardly used it. I just love what you have done with it.
The background is fabulous too.
Cathy, this is FABULOUS! Love the embossed and sponged sunburst, but most of all (because I'm such a fan of personalising cards) I love the inclusion of photos. Thanks so much for joining us at Just Add Ink this week!
This is a fantastic card! I absolutely love it! Great work!!
Great idea for a scrap/card - and very personalised too. Chantell JAI
That sunburst embossing folder is fabulous for this challenge and I love how it puts focus on the photos in the film strip, great effect. Thanks for joining in with our challenge at Just Add Ink this week.
I LOVE this idea, Cathy! What a treasure!
