Hi everyone, welcome back to a new year and a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!
It was my turn to choose the theme for this turn...winged things.
Lots of scope for butterflies, bugs, planes, birds etc.
or play along with our anything goes birthday option
My team mates and our party guest have some amazing inspiration for you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.
I bought this die set ages ago and this is it's first outing. I was inspired by this project by Emma Williams, I just love her dragonfly!
I diecut mine from silver metallic card and used distress glazes and gold embossing powder to colour the dragonfly. The die is 3 pieces so I used glossy accents to glue it together.
Here's a closer look at the shimmer and shine.
I used similar coloured sprays for the background tag with a spritz of gold glimmer mist, then embossed it for added texture. The embossing folder is also new to me.
The edges are tipped with walnut stain distress ink for definition.
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Dies: Sizzix funky insects; MFT pierced and regular tag stax; Creative Expressions mini stacked happy birthday.
Other: Distress glazes in cracked pistachio; rusty hinge and walnut stain; gold embossing powder; versamark pen; distress oxide sprays and distress sprays in rusty hinge and cracked pistachio; walnut stain distress ink; Tattered Angels gold glimmer mist; Altenew organic linen 3D embossing folder.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x
I love your background, the colors and embossing. The dragonfly is awesome, Cathy. Using the glaze and embossing powder gave it a patina that just shines.
