Wet and dry embossing

Hi everyone, I hope Christmas was a happy time for you and that 2023 is a good year for all of us.
It's been a hectic topsy turvy year here so I hope it all settles down next year lol!

I managed to get some time in my craft room and had a play with this impresslit butterfly and some waxes to colour it. I added some gilded foundry wax as highlights and heat set it to bring out the shine.(I added the antennae from a Memory Box butterfly die!)

The background is also embossed and the diecut sentiment was inked with versamark and embossed with aged black embossing powder.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Supplies:

Sizzix 3D butterfly impresslit; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; Darice crackle embossing folder;
Art Alchemy antique brilliance wax in red amber; Ranger foundry wax-gilded; versamark ink and Frantage aged black embossing enamel; happy sentiment sticker.

Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

  1. This is really beautiful Cathy and I love the look of the wax with the red tone underneath and the gold tone over the top which highlights it so prettily, and it looks great over the crackle embossing in the background, also the aged look to the heat embossed sentiment adds even more interest. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and that life is calmer for you in 2023. I look forward to visiting you then and thank you for all your visits to my blog which I really appreciate. x

  6. Beautiful birthday card. I'm loving the textures and dimensions. Super clever idea to mix the dies (to add the antennae). Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge.
