Dichromatic oxide sprays

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has chosen dichromatic as the theme.
She'd like us to use only 2 colours, neutrals are ok but no metallics.

Of course, you can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too.

My team mates and our party guest Vicky have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I was a bit stumped with this one to start with and decided to look through my drawers of stamps that have had little or no use!
These feathers leapt out and I stamped them in versafine clair nocturne, then embossed them with a fine white detail powder.

Does anyone know of a white ink that can capture fine details?
I think my ink pad needs reinking so the white embossing covered the black ok, but my sentiment is a bit pale!

Next I sprayed on some distress oxide inks in salvaged patina and antique linen, then spritzed on some water to blend things a bit more.
When dry I tried to buff over the embossed areas with a paper towel to remove the white oxide residue.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Sparkles Monthly Challenge, something big, something small

Little Red Wagon, make it masculine

As You Like It Challenge, favourite occasion and why.
I love birthdays and making cards for them because the sky is the limit for techniques and ideas for them!

Supplies:
Deep Red feather stamp; Carabelle Studio live your dreams stamp - small feather; Hero Arts Find Joy sentiment stamp;  Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; versafine clair nocturne ink; Wow bright white fine detail and clear ep; Distress oxide inks in salvaged patina and antique linen

Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

  1. I think the feathers turned out with great detail. This turned out really pretty with the blue and green also

  2. The feathers have a lovely delicate ethereal feel, they look like they're floating. The inked background works well as it's almost peacock feather colour.

I can't help with white ink, I literally pull my hair out with white ink pads and gel pens... haven't found one that plays nicely with Prisma pencils 😞 x

  7. Such a gorgeous background Cathy and a great stamp. Love the colors and how well you have them moving on the page. As for white ink...I have not found one that I really love so I am of little help in that department.

  18. Such a beautiful card, Cathy and I love how your feathers stand out whilst not covering all of the gorgeous inked background. It has such an ethereal look to it that is not easily achieved.
Thanks for sharing with us at ATSM and I hope you will join us again soon.
