Metallic star

Hi everyone, I've been playing with embossing powders again, nothing is safe lol!

I inked up the star diecut with versamark, then tipped on some aged copper frantage enamelling powder.
Love the verdigris look that came through.

Here's a closer look.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Less is More where the team is celebrating their 11th birthday, Congratulations!

I placed a white star under the embossed one to add interest, it may be too subtle for the challenge theme though.

Dichromatic oxide sprays

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has chosen dichromatic as the theme.
She'd like us to use only 2 colours, neutrals are ok but no metallics.

Of course, you can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too.

My team mates and our party guest Vicky have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I was a bit stumped with this one to start with and decided to look through my drawers of stamps that have had little or no use!
These feathers leapt out and I stamped them in versafine clair nocturne, then embossed them with a fine white detail powder.

Does anyone know of a white ink that can capture fine details?
I think my ink pad needs reinking so the white embossing covered the black ok, but my sentiment is a bit pale!

Next I sprayed on some distress oxide inks in salvaged patina and antique linen, then spritzed on some water to blend things a bit more.
When dry I tried to buff over the embossed areas with a paper towel to remove the white oxide residue.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

WWC #335 - Heidi's Challenge Anything Goes - celebrating the end.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and sadly it is our farewell challenge.
I've only been a member of the team for a short while but I've enjoyed every minute of my time here.
Thanks to Heidi, Marsha, Kath, Dawn, Helen and Tristan for their support and inspiration as team mates and over the many years that the challenge has been running.

A long time friend is getting married later this month and I wanted a special card for him.
(Hubby wanted me to make a kombi card as our friend's mad keen on restoring and driving them!)
I won though lol!

I made a similar card to this many years ago and the couple loved it, so I thought I'd make another one but with brighter colours this time.

I attached some adhesive backed metal sheet to cardstock then diecut the daisies.
I used alcohol inks and blending solution on felt with a blending tool and pounced the colours on.
Love how the colours kept changing!

When I was happy with the colours I painted on some Vintaj glaze gloss sealer to help stop the colour from scratching off the metal. It's the first time I've used it, so hopefully it works!

I inlaid one of the flowers to reduce bulk.

It's so hard to photograph, but here's a look from another angle.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Allsorts, CAS with the option of elegance

The Sisterhood of Crafters , anything feminine, must include flowers.

Snarky Bear and a stencil.

Hi everyone, I was excited to be asked to guest design at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers  after being crowned Queen recently!

My snarky collection is a small one but I hope the grumpy bear with his judgemental sentiment fits the bill!

Thankyou to the sisters and I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

This grumpy bear has had a few outings lately lol!
This time I extended his placard so I could fit the longer sentiment on it.
He is fussycut and coloured with Prismacolour pencils.

The background is stencilled with oxide inks.
It's a new to me stencil and I overlaid the circles to add to the rollercoaster feel!

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Darnell's NBUS Challenge, since the stencil is having it's first inking.

Supplies:
Taylored Expressions Big Grumpy stamp and die; The Ink Road sentiment stamp; versafine nocturne clair & clear ep; Andy Skinner whirlpool stencil; Distress Oxide inks;

Sparkle & Shine for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and it's my turn to host! I chose sparkle and shine as I think we could all do with some more of that lol!

Of course you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option too.

Our party guest Vicky and my team mates have some wonderful sparkly inspiration for you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

I applied some Bo Bunny glitter paste through this Funky Fossil stencil onto black cardstock.
I used copper, wasabi and seafoam. Love the autumn feel!

Here's a closer look.

I diecut the stencilled panel and mounted it onto a black mat as I think it makes the colours pop a bit more.
I used a new to me die for the birthday sentiment and the happy is a sticker mounted onto a fussycut piece of card to match the look of the die.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

I've gone with the right hand vertical column. Stencil, birthday, diecut.

Allsorts, playing along with anything goes and the stencil option

Since my sentiment die is new I'm linking up to Darnell's NBUS Challenge

Supplies:
Bo Bunny glitter paste in copper, seafoam and wasabi; Funky Fossil leaves stencil; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; Memory Box birthday jotted script die; happy sticker.

Winter scene for CAS Christmas

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas and Christine has chosen a winter scene as the theme.

Our guest this month is Izzy and she and my team mates have some wonderful ideas to inspire you.
Making Christmas cards throughout the year is a great way to get your stash ready for December, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

I signed up for Heather Telford's winter wonderland course in January 2021 and I only recently had my first look at the videos and had a play!
At least the content is always available which is great for slow pokes like me lol!

This background used distress inks painted onto watercolour paper with lots of water.
I spattered on some diluted white gouache paint to look like snow and then sprayed it with dazzling diamonds for some shimmer. Got a bit carried away with that I think!

Here's a closer look, although I don't think it's showing up too well in the pic.

I layered the black diecut tree over a white one and left some of the white exposed to look like snow.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

ABC Christmas, I've chosen A for anything goes Christmas.

Supplies:
Dies: Memory Box circle layers and star of wonder; Stampin Up winter wonderland; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle.
Other: Watercolour paper; distress inks in peacock feathers, chipped sapphire and black soot; Glimmer mist dazzling diamonds spray; white gouache paint; Happy Little Stampers let it snow sentiment; silver ink and Wow superfine silver ep.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and Helen is hosting an all about occasions theme.

It can be a birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Valentines, any occasion at all!
My team mates have some wonderful cards to inspire you so I hope you can play along.
All of the details are on the challenge blog.

I have a few backgrounds in my stash made by smooshing inka gold pastes and water on a craft mat.
I diecut one with this bouquet die and added a frame and a sentiment. It's very shimmery in real life but doesn't show up much in the photo.

I'm linking up to these challenges:
