Mixed Media with Magicals inspired by Tiffany Solorio

Hi everyone, I've been watching some You Tube videos by Tiffany Solorio using magicals.
This one is inspired by her video here
(I used to have a dress in these colours that I bought from a market in London on my one venture overseas!)

I made the background by sprinkling the magicals onto watercolour paper and spritzing with lots of water. When dry I flicked on water droplets to create texture.

 I also tried stamping some text randomly with white pigment ink, that's the mixed media part lol!
Then flicked on some white gloss spray and some spatters of gold paint.

I layered up the white diecut flower and sentiments for extra dimension.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Allsorts, playing along with anything goes.

Things in a Garden for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday, and our wonderful leader Nancy has chosen things in a garden for us to add to our cards.

So many choices here!

Or you can play along with the anything goes birthday option.

My team mates and our party guest Hilary have some wonderful inspiration for you so I hope you can play along. We will also have a special guest for the fortnight Anagha so hop over to the blog and take a look.

We have a bush garden, full of gum trees, although we've cleared some due to the bush fire risk!
We also have chooks, raspberries and some veggies growing, but I thought I'd stick with the gum leaves and blossom.

I was inspired by this card by Yana Smakula.
I don't have any similar leaf stamps and used my Prismacolour pencils, (no polychromos), but I'm happy with the result! The gold embossing is really shiny in real life.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Retro Rubber, anything goes using a stamp older than a year.
I used a Kaszazz gum leaf stamp, there's no date on the package but the last time I used the stamp was

Cardz 4 Guyz, any colouring medium - I used Prismacolor pencils.

Krafty Chicks, all occasions

Supplies:
Kaszzaz gum leaf stamp; versamark ink & Wow metallic gold rich superfine ep; Prismacolour pencils; Stately embossing folder; sentiment sticker.

Card for a child at Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda wants us to make a card for a child.

or, play along with our anything goes birthday option.

Our party guests and my team mates have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope to see you in the gallery.

A friend's little boy loves dinosaurs, so this was a good chance to try out this stegosaurus die that I hadn't used yet.
I made quite a few backgrounds by smooshing glossy photo paper in distress and oxide inks .
(I think this one was just vintage photo distress ink).

This is a fiddly die but fun!
 I layered all of the pieces onto black pieces before assembling them so that they would have some dimension.

The background is cardstock smooshed into pumice stone and tea dye oxide inks.
I inked over some of it to create the sky, and finished it with a diecut palm tree and some greenery.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Mix it Up Challenge Blog, anything goes and I'm using the optional distressing.

Edited to add:
I'm also linking up to a new to me challenge  Park Hopping My Happy Place as my Jurassic scene is a bit like the ride at Universal Studios, would love to go there one day, long way from Australia though!

Thankyou Makira for the suggestion!

Supplies:
Dies: Sizzix prehistoric;  MFT wild greenery and tag stax; Poppystamps grassland border; palm tree brand unknown;
Other: oxide and distress inks; sentiment sticker, glossy photo paper.

Green and Gold inka gold

Hi everyone, I'm using up some scraps of card left from smooshing inka gold paste and water on a craft mat.
Here's a closer look at the shimmer.

The die is one I bought recently although it was released in 2014.
(I do wish dies weren't retired as I'm usually slow to find them lol!)

I'm linking up to these challenges:

I've used the diagonal diecut, layers and smooshing as my free choice.
My sentiment stamp is a favourite from Paper Smooches - Sentiment Sampler.
There is no date on the set but sadly I think the company went out of business in 2020.

Double D, want us to use green.
(I hope using gold is ok too)

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge, without the option of wings.

Supplies:
Memory Box Alessandria tree outline and background dies; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die ;
Inka gold paste in jade and gold;
Paper Smooches sentiment sampler sentiment stamp; versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep;

Inspired by a T-Shirt!

Hi everyone, I was asked to make a birthday card for a young man who loves landcruiser vehicles.
Needless to say, I was pretty stumped and while searching the internet for male birthday ideas I saw a t-shirt with this slogan on it.
Glad Mum was happy with it lol!

I diecut all the coloured letters then layered everything onto a black layer for dimension and a touch of shadow. Very messy and gluey. A T ruler helped lining everything up.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Country View Challenge, card for a man

The Diecut Divas, anything goes

Can You Handle the Pressure, playing with the anything goes option

The small alphabet/number die by Charlie & Paulchen and the Taylored Expressions embossing folder had their first use for this card, so I'm also popping in to Darnell's NBUS Challenge

Supplies:
Dies: Charlie & Paulchen mini alphabet; Memory Box awesome jotted script and Parker numbers for the 18;
