Gingham for baby

Hi everyone, I was asked for some baby cards recently so had a play with some old stash and new patterned paper!

The embossed base is a retired Stampin up folder called square lattice which came in handy for lining up the gingham squares! Glad I had my glasses on lol!

The baby icons and from some very old Quik Cutz cookie cutter dies called Baby Shapes ( a $1 bargain at Spotlight years ago). I coloured them with some Artnic ink cubes and a finger dauber, and popped them up on foam squares for dimension.

The patterned paper is from a pad by MFT petite gingham and I used a 1" punch to get my squares.

The stamp is an old one from Papertrey Ink bundle of love, no date on the set but I've had it for about 10 years.

Retro Rubber

I've used pattern paper, dry embossing and both punches and diecuts.

Butterflies or hummingbirds for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and our wonderful leader Nancy has chosen butterflies or hummingbirds as the theme.

Of course you can always play along with our anything goes option as long as it's for a birthday.

My team mates and our guest Deepti have some wonderful inspiration for you, so hope to see you in the gallery.

I've been making glitter paste cards for a 21st birthday in purples and blues and had a reject piece sitting on my table. I thought I'd see how it would die cut and was pretty happy with the result. I traced around the butterfly die to fussy cut a vellum layer too.

Here's a closer look at the sparkle.

And here's the stencil it was cut from, Funky Fossil brand but not sure of the name.

The sentiment was snipped from the Birthday cursive script circle.
I love the font on this die but didn't want the circle part for this card. I inked it with versamark and clear embossed it for some shine.

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday, wild and wonderful. My take is wild colours!

Allsorts, something beginning with B...Butterfly!

Supplies
Dies: Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle; Memory Box birthday cursive script circle; Sizzix scribbly butterflies.
Other: Bo Bunny glitter paste; Funky Fossil stencil; versamark ink & clear ep; happy sticker; vellum.

Signs of Spring for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Lindsey has chosen signs of Spring as the theme.

Of course you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option too.

I thought of birds, butterflies, baby lambs, then settled on colourful flowers!
My team mates and our guest Deepti have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

I bought this stencil quite a while ago and promptly shoved it in my stencil drawer!!
I've used it lots today to make up for that lol!

This version used distress inks in saltwater taffy, squeezed lemonade and salvaged patina.
It's amazing how different the stencilling looked when I tried the same colours using oxides!

The sentiment looks a bit blurry sorry! Its layered up and clear embossed for shine.

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge, Spring or Easter
I've gone with the Spring option.

Simon Says Stamp Winter Floral stencil; distress inks saltwater taffy, squeezed lemonade and salvaged patina; Mama Elephant scripty birthday die; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; versamark ink & clear ep; happy sticker.

Thoughtful Kookaburra

Hi everyone, I don't usually make landscape oriented cards, but thought it had to be landscape for this one.

I'm playing along with the challenge at AAA Cards
Along the edge and your country, (Australia) while keeping it CAS!

Kookaburras are often known for their raucous laughing call, bit I think they can look quite pensive as well.
Some distress ink blending along the edge, I diecut 2 birds and layered them for dimension and an embossed sentiment finished the card.

I'm also linking up to the challenge at Addicted to CAS

Supplies:
Paper Rose kookaburra on a branch die; distress inks; Happy Little Stampers sentiment die; versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep: Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; hammered card base.

Night sky birthday.

Hi everyone, I had another piece of watercoloured card that I'd made using a technique
from Heather Telford's winter wonderland course. I signed up in January 2021 and had a play earlier this year!! My how time flies!

This background used distress inks painted onto watercolour paper with lots of water.
I spattered on some diluted white gouache paint to look like snow and then sprayed it with dazzling diamonds for some shimmer.

Here's a closer look:

Retro Birthday

Hi everyone, I used to love spirograph when I was a kid!
This die reminds me of all the fun I used to have.

I used an oxide blend that Kristina Werner demonstrated on her blog. Seedless preserves, salvaged patina and squeezed lemonade, just love this combination. She has loads of other blending combos too, thanks Kristina!

The sentiment die was inked with versamark and clear embossed for some shine. The stars are diecut from black glitter paper, I thought it needed them lol!

I'm linking up to these challenges:
Addicted to Stamps & More, I've used oxide inks to make my mark.

This is a new to me die, so I'm also visiting Darnell's NBUS Challenge

Supplies:
Dies: Birch Press Design string art frame; Creative Expressions stacked happy birthday die; Stars from Find it Trading congratulations set.
Oxide inks; versamark ink and clear ep; black glitter card.

Stripes for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules wants us to stripe it up!

Of course you can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too, it's a great way to build up your stash of birthday cards.
My team mates and our guest Deepti have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

The first thing I thought of for this theme was using up the diecut circles from the windows I've been cutting in cards lately!

This stencil had it's first outing with a few colours of BoBunny glitter paste.
The star is diecut from some glitter card that's a good match for the paste. (Had to add the star to cover up an oopsie with the paste!)
The diecut sentiment was inked with versamark and clear embossed, then layered for dimension.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Make My Monday, use a stencil

Supplies:
Spellbinders and Memory Box circle dies (love how narrow the black border circle is!); Papertrey Ink star die;
MFT candy stripes stencil; Bo Bunny glitter paste; Creative Expressions mini stacked happy birthday die; glitter card; versamark ink & clear ep.
