Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Vicki has chosen stripes as the theme.
If dots are more your thing, then you can play along with our anything goes challenge, so long as it's for a birthday!
Lots of inspiration on the blog from our party guest Jenny and my team mates, so I hope you can play along.
I got stuck on the idea of using washi tape and nothing else was working lol!
Love the colours on this tape and could only think to add a stripe of stripey tape!
The sentiment was inked with versamark and embossed with Lindy's midnight gold ep.
The butterfly was stamped, embossed, fussycut and coloured with Inktense pencils and a waterbrush.
Here's a closer look at the shine and sparkle from the stickles on the butterfly.
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Washi tape not sure of the brand; Hero Arts antique engravings butterfly; versafine clair nocturne ink & clear ep; Inktense pencils; Mama Elephant birthday script die; versamark ink and Lindy's midnight gold ep; happy sticker; diamond stickles; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x
The pretty washi tape and the beautiful butterfly look fabulous together and what striking colours. I love the embossed sentiment too with the Lindy's powder x.
ReplyDeleteThat beautiful butterfly steals the show on this card. I love the subtle strips on the side and that great script for the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteThe striped washi tape and the beautifully coloured butterfly complement one another perfectly Cathy and love the wonderful glossy finish you have on the die cut sentiment using the pretty Lindy's EP. A really elegant CAS card. x
ReplyDeleteFun way to add stripes with that pretty washi tape. Your butterfly is colored so pretty. The gold sentiment really pops with all the elements together.
ReplyDeleteWashi is always a great way to add stripes! Gorgeous butterfly and that bold & glossy sentiment is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteA great way to add the stripes to your card. They look holographic in the picture. I love how you colored the butterfly in the same colors and the Stickles really set it off.
ReplyDeleteShiny! Love your striped border strip!

ReplyDeleteI love that you thought of Washi tape and can't believe I didn't think of that! Brilliant idea! Did you ink up part of it? It looks like it and if so what another fabulous idea! This card is perfectly balanced as that butterfly matches perfectly! Well done!

ReplyDeleteYou know, I started with a washi tape idea as well - but that didn't work out for my, so I switched gears there.
