Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen travel as the theme.
Of course, you can always play along with our anything goes birthday option, it's a great way to build up your stash of birthday cards!
My team mates and our guest Melanie have some wonderful ideas to inspire you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.
I had it in my head that I was making a card for a transport theme, so I thought I'd do a horse and rider.
I guess they could have travelled to the country to ride!
I've had this stamp for ages and only used it the once. It definitely needs a stamp press to get a solid image, and I clear embossed it to darken the image even more as some of the mountains were showing through!
I saw this card by Michelle Zindorf on pinterest and loved the background so gave it a go.
My torn paper inking needs a bit more practice but it's a fun technique. I used distress inks for the sky, mountains and grass.
The grass stamps are covering some messy bits and I think they add some depth.
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Allsorts, feminine theme.
horseriding is one of the top things on the list in my rural area for summer fun!
Stamps: Kitty-lane Australia horse and girl; Crackerbox and Suzy Stamps grass; Annabelle Stamps sentiment (retired);
Other: versafine clair nocturne and shady lane inks; distress inks in tumbled glass, broken china, pumicestone and bundled sage; clear embossing powder. Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x
