Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday, and Lindsey has chosen the theme of using scraps this fortnight.
Of course, if you don't have any scraps, then you can play along with our anything goes option, as long as it's for a birthday.
The design team and our party guest have lots of wonderful ideas to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.
I'm afraid I have a lot of scraps! I keep all sorts of papers and bits of backgrounds.
You'd be amazed at what you can diecut out of a scrap!
This diecut is the leftover piece from this card.
I had used alcohol inks and pearl inks on a sheet of yupo and only needed a piece large enough to fit behind the circle in that card.
I trimmed this leftover to fit the stitched rectangle. It was a bit fiddly glueing it down as a couple of the tiny pieces came loose so I had to jigsaw them back in place.
There's no more of it left now!
The black and white rectangles are also from my scrap drawers.
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Dies R Us, anything goes
Supplies:
Sizzix bouquet die; Ranger alcohol inks and pearl alcohol inks in greens and yellows; yupo paper; Crafts 4 U stitched rectangle die; sentiment sticker; hammered card base.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

ReplyDeleteGreat use of your scrap. Gorgeous card. Thanks for sharing with us at Watercooler Wednesday this week.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful, but I have to admit one thing in your post made me laugh... "If you don't have any scraps..." I think every crafter just had to smile at that, I think we are all in the same boat here, drowning in scraps :D fantastic use of yours though and a great inspiration for us all to go and look in the ever overflowing scrap box! Thank you for playing along with the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge. We hope to see you back again soon! Karola, DT, InvisiblePinkCards
ReplyDeleteLove both cards Cathy. Stunning and super cas layouts.
ReplyDeleteWay to use every morsel of that fun paper you made! Love both layouts! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm left wondering how much more of that beautiful die cut piece is left, and what else you are going to make using it!! :D This is definitely one wonderful card, as was the one your made using that other piece! I love the design!
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI was chuckling at your comment where it said "Of course, if you DON'T HAVE ANY SCRAPS . . . " what crafter DOESN'T have scraps? LOL!
Hugs, Sarn x
Oh! The panel is too beautiful to call it a scrap! You did a great job to place the alcohol inked die cut pieces to their places! A beautiful birthday card, Cathy!
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful piece of scrap! It well deserves to be front and centre on a card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning scrap - you turn into such an elegant card. Love it!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card - the die looks very similar to one I now have ...Maurs xxx
