Hi everyone, I hope you had a happy and restful festive season.
We stayed home as there were still bushfire threats in the area at the time and we are gradually cleaning up our property to make it more bushfire safe. We are concentrating on our house paddock but there are another 300 acres waiting for some TLC!!
I'm enjoying a break in the craft room, as it's time for a new challenge at CAS Stencil.
We are celebrating our first birthday and Nancy has chosen the theme of using a new stencil. Whether it's a new Christmas present or something that's been sitting unused in your stash for a while,
as mine is!
as mine is!
I hope you get the chance to play along, you can use any medium, or any stencilling technique and the design team have some wonderful ideas to inspire you.
I bought this Funky Fossil stencil a while ago and this is it's first inking. I blended some oxide inks in various greens using a "toothbrush" shaped blending brush. The butterfly was stamped, embossed fussycut and coloured with Inktense pencils.
This layout is probably my go to design when I use something new!
I'm linking up to a few challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday where the theme is something new.
Watercooler Wednesday where it's anything goes.

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the theme is wings.
Stamplorations CAS Challenge where it's anything goes and I'm not using the optional colour.

Supplies:
Funky Fossil leaf stencil; distress oxide inks; Hero Arts antique engravings butterfly stamp; versafine ink, clear ep and Inktense pencils; Happy Little Stampers sentiment from the doodled flowers set.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x
This card is gorgeous, it might be your go to design but it works really well. The colours are great too xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shades of green blended over the lovely leafy stencil, Cathy! As always, your butterflies are coloured to perfection! Hope you continue to be safe from the fires and pray that the firefighters are able to get things under control. It's so devastating ... my heart goes out to all those that have been effected. xx
ReplyDeleteYour blue butterfly pops perfectly off this lovely stencilled panel Cathy. Lovely card! x

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done Cathy! I love this CAS Design and may have to case it:)
ReplyDeleteI hope the fires stay away from your place. It's so scary and horrific! It's very smokey in Melbourne today and my asthma is flaring up. I can't imagine what it's like being in the hard-hit areas. Hugs x
I thought that I spotted one of our stencils on this fab card....glad that you got the chance to ink it up! I hope that you are staying safe x
ReplyDeleteI love the butterfly, the card is lovely! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges!
ReplyDeleteLovely soft stencilling in those fresh greens, Cathy ... a lovely spot for delicate butterfly to land! Stay safe, hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping over. Had no idea you had 300acres!
Was good to hear from you! I hope your clearing is going well. Its more humid now though which is good as makes incineration less liable in hot dry weather.
Had prayed it would come and a gentle cyclone with rain depression to put them out.
Lovely card. I need to use unused ones! Better go tidy though!
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you.
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

What a pretty leafy stencil Cathy and perfect to show off your beautiful butterfly. I do hope your property remains untouched, it must be so worrying not knowing where the fires will spread to next. Our son lives in Sydney and has at different times been affected by the smoky air but fortunately lives within the city and not out far enough to be in any danger as such. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card , love the butterfly
ReplyDeleteyou also have a nice blog. I started to follow you. I want to invite you to come and take a look at my blog and maybe you would like to follow me too?
