Creatures great and small.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I chose the theme this month, creatures great and small, from butterflies to giraffes and anything in between!

You can always play along with the anything goes birthday option too!

My craft room is being extended, and our lounge room made a bit smaller! All of my stash is packed up in boxes with just a few bits and pieces within easy reach, so I'm a bit limited with what I can do. I can't wait for it to be finished!

This stencil monoprint background was in my box of bits and I thought I'd use a stamp set that I've had for ages but hadn't been inked. (I think it's now retired since Happy Little Stampers shop has closed.) Even though the background didn't turn out perfectly I think it gives a sort of tribal look to the lion. I know when this set first came out Ina made some amazing cards with it, and she also used this stencil.

The sentiment is from the same set and I added a small birthday sentiment. My son is a Leo so I'll be tucking this one away for his birthday!

The Design Team and our party guest have lots of ideas to inspire you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Golden dragonfly.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday,  and Nancy has chosen stencils as the optional theme.

There are so many fun ways to use stencils, with paste, inks, paints, sprays or even dry embossing.
The design Team and our party guest have lots of ideas to inspire you. Or, you can always play along with the anything goes birthday option!

I spread some grit paste through a stripes stencil and when it was dry painted it with some teal- pink opal magic paint. I wanted more shimmer so I sprinkled on some brushos gold sprinkle it, spritzed with water and used a soft brush to spread it around.
Here's a closer look.

I like the shimmery grungy look!

The dragonfly was stamped with versafine, clear embossed, fussy cut and painted with twinkling H2Os.

Tha happy is a diecut inked with versamark and embossed with aged gold embossing enamel.

At Addicted to Stamps & More it's make your mark.

Stencilled greenery and a butterfly.

Hi everyone, I hope you had a happy and restful festive season.

We stayed home as there were still bushfire threats in the area at the time and we are gradually cleaning up our property to make it more bushfire safe. We are concentrating on our house paddock but there are another 300 acres waiting for some TLC!!

I'm enjoying a break in the craft room, as it's time for a new challenge at CAS Stencil.
We are celebrating our first birthday and Nancy has chosen the theme of using a new stencil. Whether it's a new Christmas present or something that's been sitting unused in your stash for a while,
 as mine is!

I hope you get the chance to play along, you can use any medium, or any stencilling technique and the design team have some wonderful ideas to inspire you.

I bought this Funky Fossil stencil a while ago and this is it's first inking. I blended some oxide inks in various greens using a "toothbrush" shaped blending brush. The butterfly was stamped, embossed fussycut and coloured with Inktense pencils.

This layout is probably my go to design when I use something new!

I'm linking up to a few challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday where the theme is something new.

Watercooler Wednesday where it's anything goes.

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge where the theme is wings.

Stamplorations CAS Challenge where it's anything goes and I'm not using the optional colour.

Supplies:

Funky Fossil leaf stencil; distress oxide inks; Hero Arts antique engravings butterfly stamp; versafine ink, clear ep and Inktense pencils; Happy Little Stampers sentiment from the doodled flowers set.

Holy cow...it's your birthday!

Hi everyone, Happy New Year!
I hope 2020 is a happy, calm and prosperous year for you.
Here's hoping we get lots of rain to end these horrific bushfires we've had for months in Australia.

It's time to kick off 2020 with a new challenge at  Seize the Birthday  and Ashwini has chosen the theme of layers.
(Ashwini has also created our wonderful new blog badges, I love the colourful graphic design.)

I'm more of a CAS card maker but thought building up a little scene would hopefully count as layers.

You can always play along with our anything goes birthday theme if layers aren't your style, and the Design Team have lots of inspiration for you, so I hope you get the chance to play along.

I purchased this digi in 2015 from an online shop that was closing, Squigglefly.
I printed it onto thin card, fussycut it and then coloured it with Prismacolour pencils, blended  with Zest It.

The background is distress inks lightly blended with a toothbrush shaped brush.
Diecut grass, punched flowers and a sentiment printed on my computer finished the card.

I'm linking up to some challenges:

Double D where the theme is to use a punch, and the team are celebrating their 4th birthday, congratulations!
