Hi everyone, I've been playing with a new to me technique called acrylic pouring.
I mixed acrylic paints with floetrol, silicone and water and did a flip cup dirty pour!
Sounds bad but it is so good lol!
I poured on a couple of 4x4 inch canvas boards. I'll show these another time.
Lots of paint drips off the canvases and not wanting to waste it I dipped some strips of yupo paper into it.
I almost liked doing this more than the canvas pour!
I'm linking up to these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is something new.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where it's also something new.
Seize the Birthday where it's anything goes.
Stamplorations CAS challenge where it's anything goes CAS with the optional colour of silver.
I've used a silver sentiment sticker, if that counts.
and Just Us Girls where it's anything goes.
Supplies:
Acrylic paints; Floetrol paint conditioner; coconut hair oil (silicon); yupo paper; sentiment sticker.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x
I love your end result! It's fun playing with different techniques, especially when they tune out! Thanks for joining in at JUGS and STB

OMG Cathy this is gorgeous! I have only recently been watching this technique on Youtube and love the results - and the fun messy bits. Gotta try it sometime. Fabulous card. So glad you shared it with us at Just Us Girls.
ReplyDeleteCathy the effect is stunning, it reminds me of Mother of Pearl.
ReplyDeleteI must go and watch the Youtube link.
Hugs
sharon :)
Gorgeous panel for your card Cathy. I did some dirty pour canvases last year and had so much fun. Will be doing more this year. I also have some yupo pieces with the leftovers. xx
ReplyDeleteSo cool, Cathy ... kind of groovy and funky in a contemporary way ... such a stunning panel! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that poured panel is just stunning!!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is gorgeous! And so cool to see this technique used - very creative! Thanks so much for linking up this week at JUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh this is just gorgeous! I have not heard of this, and golly, the dirty pour sure was a beautiful effect. I have tried brusho and spray starch over yupo recently, using cling wrap. Didn't dry well, so helped along, cautiously, with a warm heat gun. I love what you've created with this panel! Thanks for your visit, and while we have sunshine, the warm weather would be nice if you could send a little over our way. But what we have in our area is typical for the time of year. Hugs and enjoy your a/c and pool. TFS (oh I see that someone mentioned it looks like Mother of Pearl. To me it looks like abalone - just stunning)
ReplyDeleteCathy, just looked at some videos on this technique, as it was very new to me as well. How long did it take for your yupo paper to dry? Looks like lots of fun, although many of the mixatives are new products to me. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, probably a few hours, though as I said we are having very hot weather here, so that may have sped it up! I left it overnight just to be sure.
DeleteYour panel is beautiful and a lovely card. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous marble-look panel, Cathy! The black card base enhances the beauty of the panel. I've never tried the acrylic pouring technique, but I want to try it someday! Hideko xx
ReplyDeleteThe marble effect is extraordinary! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteThe black base is such a perfect combination, it shows the panel even more! Very well done!Thank you for playing along with us over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we all hope to see you again soon!
