Hi everyone, I bought a few colours of cosmic shimmer gilding flakes a while ago. Thought I'd do some experimenting while I started on my christmas card stash. I love these shimmery colours, but boy is it messy to play with lol!
Here's a closer look at the colours.
I'm linking up to Darnell's NBUS challenge where she encourages us to use our never before used schtuff! Not only are my gilding flakes new but the sentiment is from an Annabelle's stamp set that I bought years ago, when the company was sadly closing down, so it's being inked for the first time too!
The theme at Simon Says Stamp Monday is heavy metal.
At Simon Says Stamp Wednesday it's anything goes.
It's also anything goes at Addicted to Stamps & More.
I used a scrap of black card as my ornament base so I'm also visiting the snippets playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop, you only need to use 1 snippety piece to join in!
Supplies:
Poppystamps Clarissa ornament outline and background dies; Memory Box Crisp Bow die Stately embossing folder; Annabelle stamps gifted swirls sentiment stamp; versafine ink & clear ep; Cosmic shimmer flake glue and autumn leaves gilding flakes.
Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

Yes they are messy but such fun and you get great results as you've proved. Absolutely stunning, CAS perfection and so very classy x
ReplyDeleteOh, this is gorgeous, Cathy! The ornament is so elegant and beautiful with the foil effects.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful. I tried gilding flakes and made such a mess of it. Yours came out so perfect and really pop on the black ornament.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful card, it has such an elegance to it!
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous shimmer Cathy! Love that filigree leaf overlay.
ReplyDeleteHowever messy this is, it's really worth it, Cathy! That ornament is breathtaking! I would wear it on my black sweater!! The sweet sediment and e/f frame are perfect choices! Thank you so much for playing again in my NBUS Challenge #12!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThe ornament looks fabulous! Love this card. Great to see you in the ATSM gallery. Hope you will join us again soon. Nandini, DT
ReplyDeleteThe variation of shimmery colour on that bold ornament is fantastic, Cathy ... it's a beauty! So worth all the messiness of the gilding flakes!! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteYour ornament is gorgeous with the gilded leafy design, Canthy. The flakes always look the best on black ... so it's a great idea to layer up an ornament. I need to pull out my gilding flakes ... they have been ignored for far too long! xx
ReplyDeletevery pretty, luv the CAS design! I am so glad you played along with us at simon says stamp wednesday challenge!

Absolutely gorgeous card Cathy! You set me thinking I ought to get my gilding flakes out again to play. But you're so right about them taking on a life of their own - the slightest puff of air and they up and running! :) I wonder if double sided adhesive sheet might work for the 'sticky surface'? Worth a try - she says getting the vacuum cleaner ready!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to play in the Snippets Playground.
Hugs
Di xx
