Ferns & Dragonfly

I spent some of today distressing some panels and tags.

On this one I used a few green distress inks then spritzed with some gold perfect pearls mixed with water. (There's a soft gold shimmer that doesn't show too well in the photo.)

I stamped and clear embossed the ferns, then added the dragonfly.
(It's covering a run of water that I didn't like!)

I'm linking up to these challenges:
At Simon Says Stamp Monday its time to use a hint of clover.
Simon Monday Challenge Blog

Addicted to CAS has a distress theme.

Addicted to Stamps & More has a CAS theme.

GRAB OUR BADGE!

Virginia's View Challenge has an embossing theme.
My third entry uses dry embossing on the white base and wet embossing for the ferns.
March Challenge: All Things Embossed

At Cuttlebug Mania it's a monochromatic green colour challenge, and you need to use a manual diecutting/embossing machine like a Cuttlebug.
Supplies:
Papertrey Ink woodgrain cover plate; Memory Box dragonfly die; Penny Black Breezy stamp; distress inks; versafine olympia green ink and clear embossing powder; vellum; twinkling H2O's; sentiment sticker.

Thanks for visiting,
Cathy x

  1. Don't you just love how you can cover up mistakes etc with embellishments!! I do that with enamel dots and sequins all the time as I'm a bit of a klutz with ink. Such a fantastic card and love the dry embossing with the green colour and image, really striking. So glad you shared this with us at ATSM this week!

  10. I really love this fern Cathy and the gorgeous green background suits it perfectly. I love the added dragonfly too and no-one would ever have known it was there to cover up something you didn't like as it looks as though it was meant to be there. I had a strategically placed bird on my latest card to cover something too ..lol. We all have to be inventive sometimes. x
