Hi, it's been one of those weeks where I get stuck on every thing I do in the craft room!
Hubby advised me to just put it all away and start again, so here we go LOL!
I wanted to join in the challenge at Inkspirational where the theme is to CASE (copy & share everything) one of Sandie's cards, from her blog London Days. I chose this one, isn't it stunning!
Sandie's card
I don't have any lacy or silk flowers so I was inspired to try some interfacing (vilene I think it's called) for my peony base by this card at Norine's blog. She used cheesecloth, which I didn't have either!
I cut another base from white shimmer paper and popped it underneath and used that for the top outline too.
I'm also linking up to the
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, the theme is anything goes.
I cut my scrolls from snippets of silver shimmer paper, so I'm popping over to the snippets playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.
Materials used: Memory Box lovely peony base & outline, and elegant scrollwork dies; Papertrey ink impression plate; shimmer papers; bling and sentiment sticker.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Cathy x
Yours is striking. I like the look of that vilene you tried!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy. Your peony is so beautiful and this is a gorgeous CASE of Sandie's card . Loll xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous CASE of Sandie's card, Cathy ... love how you got creative with the vilene ... it adds so much wonderful texture to the lovely peony! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Cathy for joining us, I am so touched you played along. And this is a fabulous CASE. And so creative. To tell you the truth, that flower was constructed from bits and bobs from shop bought cards that have been sent to me. I just built them all up. And your hubby was so right. When everything won't work, I get angry but realise it is time to just leave it for a while, go and garden etc until Mrs mojo returns!
ReplyDeleteyour card is a very worthy CASE of the original - brilliant xx
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous Cathy! And the Vilene works brilliantly too - very tactile. I could well be rummaging through my sewing stuff at some point soon :)
ReplyDeleteHugs
Di xx

ReplyDeleteThis was one of my favourites of Sandie's cards and I think your interpretation of it is perfect for a wedding card. Great CASE.
