Filmstrip Birthday

Hi, I hope you've been enjoying your weekend. It's late Sunday afternoon here and I thought I'd finish off this project before I start getting things ready for work tomorrow.

I bought this filmstrip die to use with photo thumbnails. I don't do scrapbooking although I've made cards for my boys in the past that have included thumbnails of various pics from over the years. I usually mat the photos and spend ages trying to get straight and even edges!

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, the theme is tick tock. I've used pics through childhood to show time passing.

Just Add Ink, the theme is to just add a sunburst. I borrowed this sizzix embossing folder and distressed it with a couple of brown inks.

Pixie's Crafty Workshop, I cut 2 filmstrips from snippets of black cardstock and layered them together for more definition.

Materials use: Poppy stamps Bijou filmstrip die; Sizzix sunburst embossing folder; distress inks; thumbnail photos and sentiment sticker from stash.

Thanks for visiting :)

  8. I don't scrapbook either, so lots of the elements needed for pages (like 12x12 dp) are beyond my skills most times. This is great, and I love the way you used that sunburst EF. Great color depth on it too, to show off your filmstrip. This is a wonderful card Cathy. Well done! TFS & Hugs

I've been eyeing up the filmstrip die, and this shows how dumb I am - I'd never thought of putting photos in!

  13. Great card there Cathy. If that is a sizzix die, I have it too. I bought it when I first started scrapbooking and have hardly used it. I just love what you have done with it.
    The background is fabulous too.
