Chook Yard

Hi, I've been up with my chickens this morning cleaning their yard, so I thought this was an apt card! The flowers wouldn't last very long with my chooks though!

I'm going to enter the following challenges.

At Less is More, the challenge is to use hexagons in your project, and at CASology the cue card is yellow.

I used a craft nib to paint the raised part of the embossed chicken wire with silver ink to make it more defined. The rooster diecut is coloured with tombow markers and twinkling H2O's.

Materials used: Chicken wire embossing folder; Die-versions rooster die; Memory Box flower die; PoppyStamps grass die; CAS-ual Fridays sentiment stamp; Twinkling H2O's; Silver and Charcoal Versacolor ink; stickles; tiny brads from stash.

Thanks for visiting :)

  14. Hi Cathy. I LOVE that chicken wire!! I have long wanted to get a chicken wire background stamp, but I just recently saw the embossing folder ... this clinches it for me! I have to have the folder! Great idea to use the silver pen on the raised bits. Love your addition of the grass, flowers and the adorable rooster! Loll xx

    1. Thanks Loll, As I was colouring it I thought whether maybe I should've used a stamp, but I just love the raised texture! Also it didn't take too long to colour :) Cathy
