Sepia look horses

Hi everyone, I was asked to make a card featuring horses for a young girl.
I stamped this retired Stampin Up image onto some cardstock that had been smooshed into some tea dye and pumice stone oxide inks.

I clear embossed the image and coloured it with Prismacolour pencils.
I think it has an aged sepia look about it.

The sentiment is also retired, from Annabelle Stamps. Stamped in versafine clair nocturne ink and clear embossed.

Green & White for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and JoAnn has chosen green and white as the theme.

Of course you can always play along with our anything goes theme, as long as it's for a birthday.
The design team and our party guest  have some wonderful inspiration for you, so hope to see you in the gallery.

I'm casing a card I made a few years ago when I tried the bokeh technique.
This background is darker than I wanted as I used peeled paint in the mix of greens, the white pigment ink seemed to disappear into it!
The butterfly was stamped, fussycut and coloured with Inktense pencils.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

The Darkroom Door Wings butterfly stamp hales from 2012.
I've added some gems to the butterfly body for some sparkle and shine.

Ocean creatures for Seize the Birthday

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen ocean creatures as the theme.

Of course you can always play along with the option of anything goes as long as it's for a birthday.

Our party guest is Deepti Aggarwal and she and my team mates have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you can play along.

This circle and fish is a new to me die and I cut it from a scrap of card smooshed with blue inka gold.
I coloured the greenery, coral and urchin with oxide inks leftover on my finger daubers.
The fish are diecut from some silver card.

I thought it needed something else so created a background by spritzing some distress oxide sprays and water onto some card. Got it too wet, so placed another piece of card on top and smoothed it down to soak up some of the colour.
When I pulled them apart I had 2 pieces with some interesting patterns!

Finally I covered a diecut starfish in versamark and then a range of embossing powders to get a textured look.

Here's a closer look at the shimmer.
