Violet Bithday Butterfly

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has chosen a fun tic tac toe theme.

You can always play along with our anything goes birthday option too.

The design team and our party guest Jen have some wonderful cards to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I chose one image , monochrome and stencil.

The stencilled panel was a scrap form my bits box, distress oxides sprayed through a stencil.
The butterfly was diecut from stiff card, stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed with Lindy's midnight violet embossing powder. I used a couple of coats to get a nice even shiny look.

I'm linking up to these challenges:

Zen Birthday!

It's my eldest son's birthday today and this card fits some of his interests!

I spritzed some distress oxide inks onto white card and then blotted up some of the colour with a paper towel. You can just see some of the ripples from the towel!

I used my misti to stamp the monkey as I thought it might need a couple of stampings, then clear embossed it.

There were a lot of ink blotches in the monkey's body so I tried to paint over them with a white Neocolour II crayon and a water pen but it didn't work.
Next I tried a white prismacolour pencil and that at least gave the monkey some definition.

I coloured the diecut numbers with peacock feathers distress ink and clear embossed them.

It's not perfect but I had fun making this one!

Eucalypts on green.

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday
Glenda has chosen a non neutral card base as the theme.

You can always play along with our anything goes birthday option too. The design team and our party guest Jen have lots of ideas to inspire you, so I hope you can play along.

I rarely use coloured bases, even though I have a lot of coloured card!
I think I need to use it more often.

I started out by spritzing water onto some watercolour paper, then adding a few different colours of infusions powder.
The sheet looked like a bit of a grey green muddy mess, so I sprayed on some gold glimmer mist.
That seemed to make a difference lol!

Here's a closer look at the shimmer:

Once the eucalypt border was diecut, I layered it onto some white card, then added gold strips at either side and mounted it onto the base. The sentiment is a sticker, quick and simple!

AAA Birthday made in minutes without the christmas in July option.
Probably the slowest part here was drying the infusions on the watercolour paper, but my heat gun sped things up a lot!

CAS on Sunday, anything but white.

Buttons and ribbon.

Hi everyone, I was excited to be asked to guest design for The Retro Rubber Challenge, after winning a challenge there recently.
To play along you just need to use a stamp that is at least a year old, I have lots of those, as I'm sure we all do! So I hope you can play along.

This challenge theme is buttons.

.

I don't have any button dies, stamps or embossing folders, so used the real thing on my card.
I have an old tin full of buttons that bring back lots of memories!

I coloured two with some alcohol markers just to make the colours match.

The flowers were stamped, embossed, fussy cut then I coloured them with tombow markers.
I've had the stamp for years, though there is no date on the packet.
(There is a youtube video using the set dated 2012 though!)

I added some diecut greenery and a sentiment sticker and a snippet of ribbon for some extra colour.

Inkspirational,

AAA Birthday
As well as the 3D buttons, I diecut some additional tags to layer underneath to lift the top tag off the base, and the flowers are popped up with 3d foam squares.

Allsorts, something beginning with B.....Buttons!
